John Michael Seltzer

John was born on March 13, 1973 in Manhattan, Kan., to his parents Kathryn Gillespie Seltzer (Prairie Village, Kan.,), and Richard E. Seltzer (Manhattan, Kan.,). John attended Kansas State University and was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. In 1996, John moved to Lincoln, Neb., where he co-owned and operated Main Street Café and Mickey’s Irish Pub until 2005. Several years later, John founded JMS Home Improvements & Remodeling. He was a perfectionist who took great pride in his work as a talented builder and craftsman.

John was a superb golfer, an ace card player, and an avid animal lover. He enjoyed music – from the Beatles to Metallica. John found great amusement in funny stories about his nephew, niece, and his families’ pets, all of whom he adored. His laugh and smile infectious, John was a caring, generous, and compassionate friend. He leaves behind many people who love him, and John will be deeply missed.

A celebration of John’s life will be held on December 1, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Manhattan Country Club. Donations may be made in John’s name to The First Tee of Manhattan.
